Hand-forged fire striker, carbon steel. Made after a medieval original from a southern Bavarian hoard from the 13th / 14th century. Approx. 8.5 - 10 cm long. Handmade, the fire irons vary slightly in shape and size. Fire strikers, flint and tinder have been used to make fire for approximately 2000 years.
