Small Viking trefoil brooch. Based on a find from Oppland, Norway. Bronze, approx. 3.6 x 3.4 cm. Such cloverleaf-shaped brooches are part of the typical Viking women's costume. For example, they were used to close shoulder shawls or to attach chains with jewelry hangers, needle containers and other accessories to a so-called apron dress.
