Viking Age device brooch / distributor brooch with high frame and trapezoidal plate. Based on an original from Gotland, approx. 9th / 10th century. Brooches of this type were attached to women's clothing. Knives, keys, needle boxes, small tools and even amulets hung on chains or ribbons about 20 to 25 cm long. The fibulae themselves were usually attached to the left side at chest height / upper arm height. Brass, approx. 5.2 x 4.2 cm.
