Equal-armed brooch based on a Viking Age original from Birka, around 9th-10th century. A slightly more unusual shape with a geometric pattern. Brooches of this type are part of women's costume and, according to the findings, were used to close a flap skirt or as a fastener for a variant of the apron dress. Brass, approx. 7 x 2.6 cm, with sturdy iron needle.
